NBC Universal Digital Studios in Content Deal with Break.com
LOS ANGELES/NEW YORK, March 15, 2007: NBC Universal Digital Studios will produce an original broadband series for premiere on Break.com, an online entertainment channel for men, in the second quarter of this year.
The working title of the ad-supported series is Breakers, and it will feature beautiful women finding creative ways to break different objects. This is the first time that Break has joined with a major entertainment company to bring professionally produced content to its target audience of 15- to 35-year-old men.
"We are excited to produce such a unique show that is perfectly targeted to Break's sizeable male audience," said George Kliavkoff, the chief digital officer at NBC Universal. "The series will not only deliver instant entertainment gratification to its viewers, but will also continue to demonstrate the value of professionally produced content for digital platforms."
NBC Universal Digital Studios, founded in the fall of 2005, is dedicated to creating a wide range of original content for digital media platforms. Recent programs include Watch What Happens, a weekly, live-streaming, online program available at BravoTV.com.
